Looking forward to the exhibition now. This residency has been very intense in terms of thinking. Last year, In July, I did the Summer Lodge residency at Nottingham Trent University and it was a breakthrough time. I did things that came out of the space, conversations and, obviously, previous work. This was capitalised on at the Winter Narratives residency in December which was really important. Now, I have had time to put these together with my core thinking about sculpture, borders, non-place which have been my main focus. Combining these with sound and performance has almost been like pushing through the neck of a bottle, or giving birth! I have begun writing again, I am making. The work that I am producing for the second part of the exhibition brings in a political and environmental aspect which I have been seeking.
