Day 4 Covid 19 Blog
It had to happen. Like a lot of people in the world outside the tulips are dying. I used to love capturing the petals drying up and curling round the stamens, but in the present situation I need something more joyful!
I have some tiny red flowers in a blue pot. I think they are quince blossom.
Looking at contrasts. Some of the flowers show up because they are surrounded by green.
A colour contrast. All the green and red together are shown up by an almost black background. A tonal contrast.
The first attempt:

Really not good. The only bit that works is where the red is over a limey green. (Don’t ask for that colour in a shop if you ever get to one again!) I quite like the lively dark background too.
